Richard W. Hise, P.E., M.B.A.

     Richard Hise, son of Bill and Anne Hise, graduated from Louisiana State University in 1978 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering with a minor in Petroleum Engineering, summa cum laude. While attending college, Richard worked at Houston Oil & Minerals as a Reservoir Engineer Summer Intern and at Union Oil Company of California as a Process Engineer Summer Intern. He then went on to Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas and graduated with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in 1979.

     Richard's Professional career began in 1979 when he started work at Exxon Company, USA as a Reservoir and Subsurface Engineer. He was responsible for the economic evaluation of drilling well proposals, reserve estimates, and producing property surveillance for onshore and offshore fields owned / operated by Exxon. In addition, he taught the Exxon reservoir engineering school to other Exxon engineers.

     He then continued his career at The Hise Company beginning in 1983 as President and Petroleum Engineer. The Hise Company is a consulting firm that provides consulting petroleum engineering and geological services to private mineral owners, financial institutions, and independent and major oil companies. Services include the preparation of reserve estimates, reservoir evaluations, and property appraisals for these clients.

     In 1996 Richard began managing the oil and gas investments / operations of the Pennington family office via a contract with The Hise Company. He has been responsible for coordinating all exploration (geoscience), engineering, technical, and operational activities, as well as reserve reporting and cash flow analyses. Under his direction, Pennington Oil & Gas Interests has successfully drilled and completed 13 deep (20,000' plus) Tuscaloosa gas / condensate wells, with cumulative production of over 100,000,000 MCF of gas and 1,000,000 BBLS of condensate.

     Richard is the Managing Member of Hise Exploration Partners, LLC, where he is responsible for Prospect Screening, Exploration & Production, Finance, Investor Relations, and overall Project Management.

Richard is a Registered Professional Engineer in Petroleum Engineer in Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma and Mississippi. He is an active member in the Society of Petroleum Engineers and the Society of Petroleum Evaluation Engineers, along with the American Association of Drilling Engineers.

     Richard is also an active member of the community through the First Baptist Church, where he has served as a Deacon; Episcopal School of Acadiana, where he has served on the Board of Trustees; The Petroleum Club, where he has served on the Board of Directors; and Junior Achievement of Acadiana.

     Richard has been married for 30 years to Debra, and they have two children, Taylor Hise, M.D., who practices in Houston, and Forrest Hise, who followed in the family’s footsteps, graduated with honors in Petroleum Engineering, and now works with Richard at Hise Exploration Partners, LLC.
